But lately, a troubling trend has surfaced in our community: reports of delivery drivers opening packages, removing contents, or even checking figures before resealing and delivering empty or tampered boxes.

What’s Actually Happening?

Unlike traditional package theft where a parcel goes missing from your doorstep, these incidents involve delivery staff themselves. We’ve seen stories circulating online (and heard from a few customers) where:
  • The shipping box arrives noticeably opened or poorly resealed.
  • The blind box inside is missing, or the factory seal is broken.
  • Sometimes, the package is delivered empty.
  • In rare cases, figures have been swapped out or “checked” before delivery.
This is a huge disappointment—especially with limited edition or rare pulls, where the excitement is in the surprise.

Why Is This Happening?

  • High Value & Rarity: Pop Mart collectibles are well-known, valuable, and easy to resell, making them a tempting target.
  • Recognizable Packaging: Even discreet shipping can’t always hide the unique shape or weight of blind box collectibles.
  • Lack of Oversight: Once a package enters the carrier system, there’s little visibility or control over each handler.

What Can Collectors Do to Protect Their Orders?

While sellers like us do everything possible to ship securely, there are a few extra steps you can take:

1. Request Signature on Delivery

  • When possible, choose signature-required shipping at checkout (reach out if you want this added to your order).
  • This means your package won’t be left unattended, and there’s a record of handoff.

2. Track Your Shipment Closely

  • Use the tracking link provided with every Taropudding Co order.
  • Sign up for SMS/email notifications, and try to be home on the expected delivery day.

3. Inspect Packages Immediately

  • Before opening, check for signs of tampering: broken tape, re-sealed flaps, or damage.
  • Take photos of the box and packaging as soon as you receive it.

4. Report Issues ASAP

  • If your package arrives empty, resealed, or with a broken blind box seal, contact us immediately at support@taropuddingco.ca.
  • Include photos of the packaging, shipping label, and contents.
  • File a complaint with the delivery carrier, referencing your tracking number.
